I'm a life-long tattoo enthusiast who started collecting ink when I was 16 (2 decades ago). I'm a career Soldier with tats from all over the US (PA, GA, CO, AK and AZ).

Currently I'm a graduate student conducting research on the feasibility of opening a tattoo parlor in rural Kansas (outside of Fort Leavenworth, near Kansas City, KS and MO). Any professional insight that you can offer or tips of the trade when looking at marketability, start up costs, Do's/Don't's etc. would be extremely helpful. Any example balance sheets would be greatly appreciated!

I'm also trying to confirm whether or not the KS state regulations are the "toughest in the nation."

Thanks,

Scott

I am not a business man but you need to consider a lot of things. But a tattoo parlor would be a good business, you just have to be known. You can invest in
tattoo chairs among other things.

Hi! It's a quite difficult but interesting and active business your own tattoo studio. I have friends who opened their tattoo studio in Nanaimo, BC. When I have free time I always visit them. I talked a lot about their business and hiden spesific. In my opinion it's a good idea to start your i=own but if you really love this work. If you are interested in, you can see their tattoo works here: red-cat-tattoo.com/
